New Woodland Park Chamber Member: Signal Graphics

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

A few months ago at a BBB networking event, I met Steve Hadden, owner of Signal Graphics. Turns out his company bought out the printing company my marketing firm frequently used in the past for print jobs. I was happy to meet him and learn about his services, because my company designs print pieces such business cards, trading cards, brochures, etc. and we need a reliable local resource for printing.

Well, the other day, I had a big job come up with a super fast turn-around time. The project was new business cards and trading cards for pro golfer Notah Begay III. He was hosting an event at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, New York, and needed the cards designed, printed and shipped to him within a week.

My designer at 720MEDIA did his part by designing great-looking cards with unique rounded edges. But in the end, it was a great printing job with zero room for errors that we needed. And Signal Graphics really came through for us. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and even Fed Ex’d the cards out for us immediately after they were printed to save time. Now that’s service!

Since I met Steve at a business networking event, I was curious if he belonged to any local Chambers. He  told me he is a new member of the Woodland Park Chamber. Even though I don’t currently have many clients in Woodland Park, I am now considering joining the Woodland Park Chamber. Steve had good things to say as a new member of that Chamber, and I appreciated his feedback.

Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber Luncheon

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

On Aug. 19, I had the opportunity to attend a luncheon sponsored by the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber. The event was well-attended and provided ample time for networking. I met new business prospects, connected with friends, and was inspired by the speakers.

The featured speaker was Dr. Nancy Saltzman, Colorado College class of 1974. Her inspirational message ended with a reminder to keep things in perspective and to find the joy in every day. Nancy is a true survivor and a fantastic speaker! Click here to visit Nancy’s website and learn more about her story.

C.J. Moore (last year’s winner) announced the 2008 Business Leader of the Year Award winner – Joy Love. Joy is a fascinating woman – she runs Eagle19 Consulting and is a professor of Mathematics at UCCS. I enjoyed meeting Joy & her husband after the event, and I appreciate the fact that the Southern Colorado Women’s Chamber hosts this great event every year.
